BioPharma Chemical Sales Specialist
A successful high purity chemical distributor has a need for an outside Chemical Sales Specialist based in the NJ area. This technical sales role will call primarily on manufacturers and laboratories in the biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industry offering raw materials, laboratory chemicals, and associated chemical management services. This is an opportunity to become part of a premier sales team and develop business relationships with one of the fastest growing industries in the region.
The Chemical Sales Specialist will be responsible for sales and developing new business for the biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical product lines and/or services throughout a specified geographic region. This is an newly added territory with tremendous growth potential. In addition, the individual will be responsible for fulfilling the following requirements on an individual basis: „« Responsible for managing existing and developing new business opportunities for products in the biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical chemical portfolio. „« Develop & improve customer relations that enhance our position and profitability at accounts. „« Manage existing manufacturer sales people relationships „« Responsible for meeting quarterly and annual sales quotas. „« Identify business opportunities in new markets that are consistent with biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical product applications. „« Assist in identifying new products, services, and vendors to expand product portfolio.
Qualifications:
The candidate will have a BS/MS in a scientific or engineering discipline and 3-5 years of successful sales experience selling to manufacturers in the pharmaceutical industry. The BioPharma Chemical Sales Specialist has strong business development, sales negotiating, and closing skills; as well as excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills. Must be comfortable presenting technical information to small and large groups. Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing and pharmaceutical industry regulation as related to raw materials is highly beneficial. The sales person must be able to interface comfortably at high levels within the customer¡¦s management structure.
Literacy skills are required to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals in the related industry. The individual shall have the ability to respond to technical questions, common inquiries and complaints and the ability to effectively present information to engineers, managers and purchasing agents / managers.
